But WHY Should You Trust Me? What Makes Me Competent To HELP YOU?
Let me see if I can offer some details that will convince you. During my stay in the University I excelled both in academics and sports. For instance, I was best graduating student, Second Class Upper Division honors, B.Sc Agricultural Extension Services (1992). In addition, I was a regular in the University of Ibadan handball team from 1987 to 1992; and Captain of Independence Hall Handball team that won the Interhalls Handball competition in 1992. On the social front, I was maiden Chairman of Readers Club in Agric. Extension Services department and more relevant, from my 3rd undergraduate year, I was an active member (and at a point Sales Coordinator) of the Student’s Farm Research Foundation (SFRF) - an innovative, self-funding farm research oriented student group. SFRF was dedicated to helping members gain in-depth understanding of livestock management by exposing them to real-life experiences, which often involved experimentation with feeding, medication/vaccination etc. During a fast paced 7 year period as a manager in Guinness Nigeria plc, I would later gain valuable experience as a manager of human resources and processes. Exposure to World Class Manufacturing/Best Operating Practice training, in addition to Workplace Performance Improvement Coaching Education gained by attending International Courses within and outside Nigeria, equipped me with the ability to adapt proven solutions from different cultures and economies to suit local conditions. But that's NOT what makes me competent to HELP YOU. What qualifies me - and which shows through in the work I do via my website - is that I have successfully APPLIED what I learnt to the real world situations that farmers and business owners face daily. In order to do this, I have exposed myself to MANY real life farm business situations and environments, by apprenticing on other people's farms for as long as 6 months (click for details). I have also attended seminars, bought and studied manuals, videos and other resources created by local and international practitioners. Most importantly, I have experimented with cost-saving ALTERNATIVE methods and techniques described on my website. Then, drawing from my 7 years in Guinness Nigeria Plc (during which time I excelled as a process manager, training and technical development manager as well as World Class Manufacturing/Best Operating Practice Process Management Champion), I evolved an approach that leveraged what I had learnt through my personal experiences and observations. What I came up with enabled me to begin offering value-adding INFORMATION and EDUCATION to farm business owners via my farm biz support site. The many visitor responses I have since gotten attest to the QUALITY of the content I have been able to generate.
